The goals of Fair Oaks Academy include ensuring students achieve early proficiency in reading, writing and math, enlightening them on the arts, and facilitating independent thinking. We want our students to discover and then pursue their own interests. We use the Saxon math curriculum. We are also licensed to deliver an in-school Kumon math program. Students are on individual programs and study at their own rate.

Language

We offer language training in Spanish, French, Italian, German and Mandarin Chinese.

Curriculum

Our students are on individual academic programs and thus work at the gradient that is correct for them.  They may progress as rapidly as they desire or are able.  The student-teacher ratio is kept low in order to facilitate rapid progress.  Science and social studies are group-taught at the lower levels, bridging over to independent study as students progress to higher grade levels.

Reading

We love to teach children to read!  We use a phonics approach and have no students who fail at reading.

Math

We want students to not only know the steps to get the right answer, but also why those steps get that answer.  This governs our math program.  Our students enjoy math and excel at it.

Kumon Math

We are proud to be one of a handful of private schools in the U.S. licensed to deliver Kumon Math, a supplemental math program.

Science & History

We strive to supplement our classroom materials and activities in science and history with real world experience.
